The Greenland ledum, called "Labrador tea", is a plant of the Ericaceae family that grows naturally in North America, and is found in abundance in northern Québec. This plant is coveted for its essential oil obtained through steam distillation.
Labrador essential tea oil is especially sought after for its anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, antiseptic and decongestant properties. The dried leaves can also be drunk as tea by infusing the leaves in hot water for 3 to 4 minutes.
Labrador tea tisane helps regenerate liver cells and acts as a hepatic drainer. This herbal tea is also very effective to treat stress and insomnia. In addition, studies are underway to analyze its potential to treat certain tumors (through essential oils).
